In the Waldo neighborhood located in Kansas City, Missouri, a serial rapist is still on the loose.  So far he has attacked five women within five months, but now one group is hoping to help catch the bad guy.

“We’re here to help,” said the group’s leader who goes by the name “Real.”  “We’re here to make people feel more secure and that’s what our tactics and methods help us do.”

They are the Kansas City’s Guardian Angels, as KSHB-TV reports.  The Angels are a national public safety patrol started by Curtis Sliwa.  Sliwa trained recruits in martial arts and taught them how to make citizen’s arrests.

People in the group wear red jackets, red berets, and use street names like “Real,” “Bear,” and “Big Momma.”  Armed with only flashlights, the group has been patrolling residential streets in Waldo since fears and concerns have been at an all time high since word of the serial rapist got out.

Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect, who is described as black, about 6 feet tall, weighs 250 pounds, and is bald with pitted cheeks, possibly from acne scars.  Some victims said the man had bad breath and smelled like smoke or exhaust fumes.
